SEDINEF T is Acetylcycsteine 150 mg and Taurine 500 mg Tablets. Acetycysteine improves oxidative stress and used in prophylaxis of contrast induced nephropathy. While Taurine can influence several physiologic functions of the kidney, including renal blood flow, glomerular filtration and its rate, osmoregulation, ion reabsorption and secretion, and composition of urine.It protects the kidneys from damage and reduces the risk of kidney failure.

INDICATIONS

 Used as an antioxidant, relieves oxidative stress.To reduce the risk of contrast nephropathy.As a Reno-protective agent and improves renal function and corrects hyperglycaemia and dyslipidaemia. To reverse the toxicity of high doses of acetaminophen as a mucolytic agent.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Patients allergic to N acetylcysteine or taurine or their contents should not use it.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Recommendation of vitamins for CKD patients

Methylcobalamin (Vit B12) 500-1000 mg/day

Pyridoxine  (Vit B6) 10 mg/day (Patient on dialysis) 5 mg/day (Patient not on dialysis)

Niacinamide (Vit B3) 18-20 mg/day (Both dialysis &non Dialysis)

Folic Acid (Vit B9) 1.0 mg/day supplement recommended for CKD

Iron: According to KDOQI guidelines for oral iron therapy, the recommendations are for doses of elemental iron ranging from 2 to 3 mg/kg/d up to 6 mg/kg/d, with a maximum of 150 to 300 mg of elemental iron per day.

RENOMEX

RENOMEX TABLET(Alpha Keto Analogue Tablet) contains all amino acids essential for uremic patients, five out of them are keto or hydroxyanalogue in the form of calcium salts. Therefore it allows reduction in the nitrogen supply and provides calcium. It is a medication for the treatment of chronic kidney disease patients on Conservative management therapy (CKD stage I, II, III). It reduces the chances of proteinuria and decreases secondary hyperparathyroidism and renal osteodystrophy. It decreases the progression of CKD and delays the need for dialysis.  It is used as a supplement to Low Protein Diet to Very Low Protein Diet in CKD patients. It contains five alpha-keto amino acids, which are in the form of calcium salts & five Essential Amino Acids

 

INDICATIONS

In Prevention and therapy of damages due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism, chronic renal insufficiency, In patients with a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) below 25 ml/min & Protein energy malnutrition.

DOSAGE

The recommended dose of RENOMEXTABLET (Alpha Keto Analogue Tablet) is 0.2 Tab/kg body weight per day in 2-3 divided doses.

Linagliptin is a potent, reversible, and selective inhibitor of the enzyme DPP-4 (Dipeptidyl peptidase 4,) which is involved in the inactivation of the incretin hormones (glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). These incretin hormones are rapidly degraded by the enzyme DPP-4. Both incretin hormones are involved in the physiological regulation of glucose homeostasis. GLP-1 and GIP are secreted by the intestine at a low basal level

throughout the day and concentrations are increased in response to a meal. GLP-1 and GIP increase insulin biosynthesis and secretion from pancreatic beta cells in the presence of normal and elevated blood glucose levels. Furthermore GLP-1 also reduces glucagon secretion from pancreatic alpha cells, resulting in a reduction in hepatic glucose production. Linagliptin binds to DPP-4 in a reversible manner and thus leads to an increase and a prolongation of active incretin levels. Linagliptin glucose dependently increases insulin secretion and lowers glucagon secretion thus resulting in an overall improvement in the glucose homoeostasis.

Indications:

LINASED 5 is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control as monotherapy.

  • when metformin is inappropriate due to intolerance, or contraindicated due to renal impairment. combination therapy
  • in combination with other medicinal products for the treatment of diabetes, including insulin, when these do not provide adequate glycaemic control.

Dosage

 The dose of linagliptin is 5 mg once daily
